Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) has published its 1st quarter operating results for the FY 2068/69. According to the bank, the customer base of the bank has increased by 26.67 %, low cost deposits have grown by 5.61 %, per employee business increased by 7.51 % from Rs.117.1million to Rs. 125.9 million, and the operating profit has grown by 18.30 % from Rs.340.3 million as at Ashwin end 2067 to Rs. 40.2.6 million as at Ashwin end 2068.

Mega Bank Nepal Ltd has launched a new savings deposit scheme called ‘Mega Young Star Savings Account’ for young children aged below 16 years. The minimum balance requirement for this scheme is Rs. 1,000 and it offers interest rate of 10% per annum payable quarterly. The scheme offers free issuance of Cheque Book, SCT debit card, ABBS, Online Banking and Good for Payment facility. Parents can deposit the amount into the account and they can do so by giving a standing instruction to the Bank.

The Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Bank/Nepal has appointed Tej Bahadur Budhathoki as the new Chief Executive Officer of the bank. Budhathoki had retired from the position of Department Head in 2010 under voluntary retirement scheme. He was selected from 18 candidates applying for the post.
